Now this is leadership. A lesser manager would have said,
“You know what? This team sucks. We have guys starting at 3B and the OF that have no business being in the major leagues. We started Wilmer Font in our rotation. Twice. Our GM brought in a bunch of old cronies and in doing so fucked our long term future. I wish we didn’t have three-quarters of a season left, because we’re done.’
That’s what a lesser manager would have said. Not Mickey Hodges. He is happy the team battled.
