We here at Mets Police have a vested interested in Matt Harvey. You can rest assured that come 20 years from now, when he’s playing in the local Connecticut adult softball leagues (probably giving up plenty of hits), we will be there to cover it.
Unfortunately, @SaltLakeBees was far less than accommodating, and didn’t even mention that a future hall-of-famer is taking the mound for their team, so we have to rely on the local press for the analysis:
Matt Harvey went three and one-third innings today (72 pitches, 50 strikes) and allowed three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. Fastball velo, according to the scoreboard radar, 88-92 with one 93 pitch and one at 94.

I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to watch an actual Harvey game, but this is encouraging enough, given how his rehab has gone, and it will allow him to get back to the majors, and is far better than his last start with the Bees.
While I may be jaded by how the Mets do business during rehab assignments, I believe that you’re starting to see Harvey fade out of the public eye, to the point where the minor league clubs don’t even want to promote it to sell a fast ticket.
And to think he was the talk of the town here in New York last year….
