Admittedly, I didn’t get a chance to watch the Major League Baseball All-Star Game last night, but I was able to catch the highlights, and see the pulse on Twitter.
One of the most notable things was an unhappy Jeff McNeil, after the folks at Progressive Field (where the game was held) made a mistake with the graphic when Jeff was at bat in the eighth inning:
Now, you might be wondering how big of a deal this is. Well, according to the beat, Jeff was rather unhappy….
Jeff McNeil was not pleased that the scoreboard showed deGrom while he batted. Said that he and his family were excited to see him on the board during an all star game

Many people came to Jeff’s defense, agreeing that for such a large production, this was a rather large gaff, given the severity of the moment for a young star like McNeil:
😢 I feel bad. Dude is the ultimate team player and he was denied his moment to shine bc of incompetent scoreboard operating.

He will never experience his first All-Star game again though. Won’t be the same.

On a separate note, while McNeil didn’t get his picture on the big board during the game, he did look rather snazzy with teammates Pete Alonso and Jacob deGrom is the pre-game red carpet, here’s some photos of that:
