Well as much as I’d like to bash Gil for overhanging – three pitchers in one inning? – clearly Gary G was getting tired giving up those runs in the 9th after 8 innings of 1 run ball. Gary was better than his line looks, but hey the Mets won.
Gary needs to be a little more consistent – sometimes he looks great and sometimes he looks lost out there, but hey he is only 22 and the Mets should have a solid 1-2-3 in Jerry, Gary and Tom for years to come.
The Mets may be 77-55 which is amazing, but still 5 out and the clock is running.
