Holy crap guys. So the whole point of the Will This Guy Manage The Mets? No series is to MOCK HOW STUPID EVERYONE ELSE’S CONTENT IS. And by are the other sites proving the point.
According to Andy Martino of SNY, Cone could be a candidate for the Mets job, assuming it opens with the ousting of Mickey Callaway.
The former Met and current YES broadcaster made his desire to manage known the last time the Yankees had an opening. He is deeply conversant in analytics, and an affable communicator. The Mets likely prefer experience, but Cone could represent an Aaron Boone-type moonshot.
Could this be any more stupid? (And I am not saying NJ.com are the stupid ones, I just don’t want to link to the original stupidity.)
Aside from the sheer stupidity of the premise, let’s remember some aspects of David Cone’s past.
The Mets have run anyone and everyone out of town who has even hinted of not spending their off-hours in a monastery. Syndergaard will be the next one, because he attends hockey games and doesn’t keep his mouth shut. I’m telling you that if even Pete Alonso and his New Culture is seen partying in Soho they’ll start to grease his exit.
There’s zero chance that David Cone will the Mets manager. Zero.
Will David Cone manage the Mets? No. But hey, work on those clicks and don’t worry about credibility. Just throw any bullshit up on the site.
By the way, any update on Syndergaard to the Yankees?
