Gil Must Go: 1969 Mets finish 100-62

Nothing much to report today as the Mets played out the string and the Cubs finally won a game.  The Mets finish 100-62 and 8 games up on the Choker Cubs.

Now on to this annoying “National League Championship Series” nonsense.  The one time the Mets finish first and MLB is gonna make them play extra games to get to the World Series.

Let’s look at some final numbers.

Shamsky batted an even .300 with1 4HRs in 100 games.  Why Gil doesn’t start him I will never understand.  That 14 HRs was second on the team by the way.  What does Swoboda bring to this team?  Why is he even out there?

Gotta love Cleon’s .340 with 12 HRs!

Tommie Agee with an incredible 26 HRs!

Gliding Ed Charles finished up .207.  Amazing he didn’t finish under .200

Well, now it’s on to the “NLCS” where opera singers will act like they are big time Mets fans.
