Mets Police Morning Laziness: Mets DFA Sam Haggerty who apparently played for the 2019 Mets!

Sam Haggerty of the 2019 Mets

SLACKISH REACTION:  It is a quiet day in the neighborhood.  The AAIMBR is all excited that they made an entire story about the Mets DFAing Sam Haggerty.  You’re like who?  Exactly.  But that’s what you need to do over at the content farm.  Sam was even ON the actual Mets Mets last year.  Do you remember him?

#19 on the field, but number one in your hearts, Sam had 4 AB’s with the 2019 Mets!  He played the field twice, playing 4 innings of RF during Game 162, and showed his versatility playing an inning at second during game 158.

Baseball Reference shows him appearing 11 games…so who the heck knows what happened in those other 9 games.  Maybe he pinch ran and then Mickey Hodges changed his mind a pitch later and pinch ran for HIM?

Baseball Reference has PROJECTIONS for Sam’s 2020 season.  Based upon his 4 ABs, I guess, they PROJECT he will get 202 Plate Appearances in 2020 and bat .249 with 8 HRs!  They expect he will ground into 4 double plays.

I know that sounds like the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard, but the projections are there.

Anyway, this is the kind of great content you can get over at the Amazing Apple Insiderized Mets Blog Report, they were all over this one.

Meanwhile, over at Formerly MetsBlog – they want us to know that the Mets are bringing back the scout that scouted Nimmo.  Is your day not made better with this information?

In case you can’t tell, there’s no Mets news.
