Mets Police Morning Laziness: The Mets are a steady rock in a chaotic world

SLACKISH REACTION:  The 2020’s have been the Mets’ best decade yet.  So far they have calmly and swiftly dealt with a crisis, they’ve held a FanFest, they honored Mike Piazza, added some names to their Hall of Fame, and they promoted a popular guy from within.  It’s all smooth sailing.

Meanwhile, democracy is falling apart.  We can’t even hold elections properly.  The Senate is holding a trial without witnesses.  The UK decided to mess itself up.  And the Pandemic is coming.  But the Mets, the Mets got this.

And all that makes sense.  Like, I am not going to be surprised when the Mets have a 20 game lead in July and the season is canceled due to the Coronavirus Public Gathering Laws passed this summer.  That will be very Mets.  But not their fault.

As I typed that paragraph, this tweet came in.

That will get lost in today’s news cycle, but think about that one.  If they are messing with THE MONEY you know they are worried.  So don’t be surprised when someone decides we shouldn’t have 45,000 people together to watch men hit a ball with a stick.

In other news…I still haven’t gotten my “Super Bowl Bound” jersey and cap, ordered 15 days ago.   Delivery is now expected on the 7th.  Are you kidding me?

There is absolutely no Mets news this morning.

Enjoy some Shark & Goon.  Today we discuss Picard episode 2.
