Mets Police Morning Laziness: State of the Mets….No Sale For You!

SLACKISH REACTION:   Well, I am sure by now you have heard about the reports that Steve Cohen is pulling out of buying the Mets.

But sources familiar with the talks said the Wilpons pushed late to maintain some control of the franchise beyond the five-year window. There also appears to have been some disagreement over the long-term status of SNY. Details are murky on the SNY front, but initial reports might have overstated the simplicity of the Wilpons retaining ownership of the network as a separate entity. (via NY Post)

I think you all need to calm down.  You were trading these billionaires for a billionaire whose google searches turn up words like Feds.

I am no financial expert, but this is two straight hedge fund guys who seemed interested in buying the team and then the deal fell apart.  Are the financials that bad?

But lets stop to remember Admiral Leonard McCoy.  This distinguished veteran of the Star Fleet served over 5 decades in the medical corps.

Baseball revealed the new Spring Training caps.  These will double as the BP Caps.

This cap is almost super nice except for the Mets logo on the side.  Side logos are terrible.  But let’s interrupt here to honor Han Solo.  Han is one of the great fighters for freedom of our time, and here to give him a medal is Princess Organa.

Wilmer Flores signed a deal with the Giants.

But I think what’s important here is that Private John Winger is home from his tour of duty.  Please welcome Private Winger.

You know, if we had made a t-shirt movie in like 1978 Bill would have been good in the lead.

Anyway, the Mets were having a great decade…until yesterday.  But the circus is back.  It always comes back.  I welcome the circus.  I love the circus  Never change Mets, I like the clicks.  Oh, and next time….credential Media Goon.
