MLB finally postpones season….by a very optimistic two weeks

Well, even though I wavered midday yesterday a little, as I told you, baseball would not start on time.

I find it curious that they are only saying it will be two weeks, whereas many other professional sports leagues went with TFN, but this just means MLB will have to fall on their sword again.  So far they’ve done a lousy job.   Even a basement blogger called this a few days ago.

I am also not sure why they played games today.  Was today safe but tomorrow isn’t?   It reminds me of when the Mets allowed games to be played without netting.  Things are either dangerous or not, they don’t become dangerous tomorrow.

Also keep in mind when it comes to “two weeks” – pitchers will need to ramp back up.  We can work around this by expanding rosters and bullpenning – which will be Ugly Baseball – but lets not act like it’s basketball/soccer where we can get going somewhat quickly.  Yes I understand “fitness” but Lebron and Messi aren’t going to lose the ability to play, and they can hit their treadmills at home.  It’s a little harder for JDG and Thor to stay in 7 innings shape.

But yeah let me soapbox, have I not been on baseball’s case all week?
