Only good thing from yesterday. Boy did I miss my favorite food in Jersey. #plainpie #cheesteakpie yummy 😋

SLACKISH REACTION: That’s a nice looking pie that Todd ordered….well I am guessing he ordered it and isn’t just IGing random pizzas.

One of the interesting things about the hunt for content is that if nobody leaves the house, nobody is even really instagramming.

There’s understandably no Mets news today.  Oh a few sites are trying to make things up – Edwin Jackson was almost a Met! – but really it’s The Big Quiet.

I started a new series of Coronavirus Filler in which I go through the Mets Police Archives and focus on a random jersey design.   That’s exciting, isn’t it?  Yesterday was Jeff Francouer’s 2010 Player’s Choice jersey.  Exciting.

I’m already seeing site traffic really dip.  I thing this is a combination of not just me sucking, but people aren’t commuting (I know my podcast app is full), or killing time in parking lots picking up kids (my podcast app is still full) or killing time in the office because they are home, or looking up sports, or killing time on twitter.

I suspect a lot of sites will see big dips.  As I do this as a hobby, it doesn’t really matter to me – the ads bring in “jersey money” and the jerseys have horrible swooshes now and I don’t buy $40 caps – but I could see it impacting places like say a local sports tv station’s web team.  You can only make up articles for so long.   Y’all have Tom Brady and the NFL Draft to thank for giving something to talk about for now.  I’m happy to go with absurdist content like today’s headline.

And that’s it from MPHQ.  I hope you’re doing well.
