Before I get to the next inductee let me state that other than Babe Ruth as the first member of the Hall of Immortals, the rest of the players will be inducted in random order. This is not to debate who the 13th best player of all time is, but rather who the top 100 are as a group.
With that out of the way, our second inductee is the only player to have his number retired throughout baseball. He broke the color line, enduring horrendous abuse along the way, all while putting up all-star numbers (if you haven’t seen the movie 42 you need to see it this week).
Any hall without Jackie Robinson cannot be taken seriously.
