Baseball Hall of Immortals – Inductee #18 : Ty Cobb

Arrogant?  Oh yeah.

A-hole?  From all accounts definitely.

Racist?  Reportedly.

Murderer?  Maybe

One of the greatest players ever and a member of the Hall of Immortals?  Absolutely!

The greatest hitter of the pre-Babe Ruth dead ball era, Tyrus Raymond Cobb hit .366 over 24 seasons, hitting over the .300 mark in all but his rookie year (where he only played in 41 games).

You want a modern stat?  OK, his lifetime Offensive WAR was 151.2 – second only to the Babe.

He was not a nice guy, but since being nice is not a requirement, Ty Cobb is an Immortal
