Look…here’s why A-Rod still isn’t buying the Mets:
As The Post reported in February, Rodriguez and Lopez envision their ownership of the team as re-imagining the Mets brand and Citi Field as an entertainment venue. Sources now say that the pair has been researching how to redevelop the ballpark and the area around it to make Willets Point a place where families could spend a day before, during and after a ballgame. What is the business of the Wilpons?
THEY DEVELOP REAL ESTATE.
Why would the Wilpons not want to be part of the 126th Street (I mean Seaver Way) bonanza?
And clearly the Wilpons are somehow benefitting from the silly LGA train thing. I walked everyone through that last Sunday but y’all ignored me and then get mad at me when I don’t write about the Mets. I should just do populist crap and be like everyone else. Hey look, Pete Alonso hitting a home run!
You could almost convince me that they have cash flow problems or estate problems and want/need to dump the baseball team….but why would they not want to be part of the Willets Point stuff.
A-Rod is not buying the Met to develop 126th street. Stop.
