I have written about this before. I’d like to see MLB do an actual Pride Weekend. However, from what I anecdotally hear about some players politics/beliefs/feelings (including you Daniel Murphy) I don’t believe we are anywhere near that happening.
Anyway, via an email, The T-Shirt Guy says
Due to a slight delay, our “Pride” caps arrived just as Pride Month was ending. Either way, they’re for a great cause! 100% of the proceeds from these special limited edition caps will be donated to the Ali Forney Center. Their mission is to protect LGBTQ youths from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools needed to live independently. The inventory is SUPER LIMITED in 4 styles. Snapback, fitted, adjustable and stretch fit options will be up for grabs. These will go quick. Be on time.
They are on sale at 10am Friday.
I don’t love the design and wish that someone would make something that looks more like this, although apparently someone DID make this or I wouldn’t have an image of it LOL.
Also i’d like to point out it’s possible to do 95 colors in the ball logo but not have a tiny NY. That’s not a shot at Darren – the Mets reason they took the NY off the ball logo is that is difficult to reproduce. Oh.
Anyway….would love to see Pride jerseys and caps….but I don’t think baseball is as progressive as it thinks it is. Just yesterday their social media account was making fun of a player’s appearance.
