C Bruce Maxwell has been signed minor-league contract and will report to the Alternate Training Site.
SWEET VULGAR PETE: Pete Alonso collected his first multi-hit game of the season last night, going 4-4…It was his first four-hit effort since August 15 last season at Atlanta (five hits)…Overall, Alonso reached safely in all five of his plate appearances…In 2019, the first baseman set the Mets single-season record for homers (53), total bases (348) and extra base- hits (85)…In addition, Alonso set the franchise single season rookie records for RBI (120), SLG (.583), OBP (.358), HBP (21), OPS (.941), games (161), at-bats (597) runs (103) and hits (155)…He also tied the club rookie record with 72 walks and tied for fourth among all Mets rookies with 30 doubles.
