Mets-Braves Game Notes for Saturday August 1, 2020: Wacha and Vulgar Pete stats

My friends the Mets sent me some game notes. Thanks Mets!

Last night, the Mets lost the game after leading by six runs (8-2 in the fifth)…The six-run lead that was lost is tied for the sixth-biggest blown lead in franchise history…The team’s record was eight runs, set on April 19, 1980 at Chicago-NL…The last time the Mets lost a six run lead was September 3, 2019 at Washington

I looked up that game…Neil Allen gave up 7 runs in an inning and a third.  I guess starter Pete Falcone got injured as he only went three innings of 1 run ball.

Michael Wacha has never earned a win against Atlanta… He has made four career starts (six games) and is 0-3 with a 3.65 ERA (10 earned runs/24.2 innings) with 11 walks and 20 strikeouts against the club…Atlanta is the only team he has faced in the National League that he has not earned a victory against (also has yet to defeat St. Louis, but has never appeared against his former club).

Meanwhile:

Pete Alonso | INF | .200, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 0 SB

Last Game: 0-3, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB, K

Streak: 0 for last 6

Oh my!
