It seems that Walter Lockett is tonight’s SP. The good news is @mediagoon already has a Lockett jersey so he won’t have to spend money.
Lockett has made seven starts in his career and is 1-4 with an 8.60 ERA (29 earned runs/30.1 innings) with 14 walks and 23 strikeouts… He made four starts for the Mets in 2019, going 1-1 with a 7.79 ERA (15 earned runs/17.1 innings) with five walks and 13 strikeouts.
Lockett split the 2019 season between Triple-A and the Mets… He also made two appearances on a rehab assignment with the Class-A St. Lucie Mets…Overall, Lockett went 1-4 with a 8.84 ERA (21 earned runs/22.2 innings) with six walks and 16 strikeouts in nine games (four starts) in the majors…He was 4-3 with a 3.82 ERA (28 earned runs/66.0 innings) with 11 walks and 45 strikeouts in 13 games (12 starts) between St. Lucie and Syrause.
Anyway…
Despite our dislike of Canó, he is on seven-game hitting streak, batting .591 (13-22) with three runs, two doubles, a home run, seven RBI, three walks, a .615 OBP and an .818 OPS…He has recorded multiple hits in five of those seven games…He ranks third among active players in hits (2,584), RBI (1,279), total bases (4,189), extra-base hits (922) and in runs scored (1,238).
#FreeDom (as if he doesn’t play every day): : Dominic Smith hit a game-tying solo homer in the second yesterday… He has homered in back-to-back games and leads the Mets with four home runs and 12 RBI…He has nine extra-base hits in 42 at-bats this season and sports a 1.020 OPS…In his last seven games, Smith is hitting .296 (8-27) with five doubles, three homers, seven RBI and five runs scored…The Mets are 5-2 in those games.
Former vulgarian Pete Alonso is hitting .360 in his last 7 games. As Pete says #LGM
