If Baseball Playoffs happen in the woods and nobody watches them…..

The Baseball Mafia was totally getting their jollies this afternoon when there were 4 games on at once.  The Baseball Mafia forget that people have jobs on Wednesday afternoons.

The league that won’t play at 7pm because of the West Coast somehow expects the West Coast (and East Coast and The Middle Coast which isn’t even a thing) to be available to watch 4 games on a Wednesday afternoon.

The second game of the day was the 3 PM White Sox-A’s matchup on ESPN, which averaged 953,000 viewers. Turner’s one game of the day was the 5 PM Blue Jays-Rays duel, which averaged 803,000 viewers. The early game was Astros-Twins at 2 PM on ABC, and viewership data for that game wasn’t immediately available. (via Awful Announcing)

I get that TV wants the Yankees on in Prime Time.  I agree with them.

But TO GROW THE SPORT do this.  Learn from the Sunday 4pm NFL Window. Have a main game…say the Yankees….and feed the Padres game to the 7 counties that want to see the Padres just like you would have with the Formerly San Diego Chargers.  Everyone else can watch COWBOYS PACKERS CHIEFS PATRIOTS TOM BRADY while someone else watches the Braves and Twins.

Now before you Baseball Network me and tell me that they tried this in the 90s….times have changed.  For starters, someone decided to have 16 playoff teams so we need to have overlaps, whereas in the 90s we didn’t.

But hey the baseball mafia enjoyed the 4pm window today so I am probably wrong as I usually am, right?
