Mets’ Pete Alonso’s Road To 50 HRs: April 14th update

Hey guys.  Many of you penciled in Vulgar Pete Alonso to hit 50 home runs this season, let’s check in on his stats so far.

Pete is batting .231 but who cares, batting average is for old people.  Let’s add a bunch of numbers together to make a bigger number and call it OPS!   His OPS is .756.

His OPB is .333

He has struck out 9 times in 28 plate appearances.  There’s probably some term for that – I’m gonna call it a POLAR – his Polar is .321  (He has a career Polar of .304).

But the number we all really care about are HOME RUNS BABY.

One.

But hey none of that matters, HE HAD A GREAT SPRING TRAINING.  The media told us about it every day.  A really really GREAT SPRING TRAINING.

Plus it’s only 7 games.   They will play seven games 23 more times and if he keeps up his pace of one home run every 7 games he will hit 23 or 24 home runs.  Plus he’s bound to get hot and double his pace and wind up with….oh wait that’s still only 48 not 50.

The boos will come before July 1.  I am here.  I am looking you all in the eye.  You all know where to find me.  But when the boos come, be prepared to kneel before Zod.
