Dominic Smith is 9-14 (.643) with six RBI and two walks (both intentional) with runners in scoring position since May 5…Only one player in the majors, Akil Baddoo (.727), has a higher OBP than Smith’s .688 mark in RISP situations since May 5…His .643 average with RISP in that span tops in the majors..Smith is batting .275/.359/.319 with eight runs, three doubles, seven RBI and eight walks in 20 games this month…This compares to a .222/.340/.333 slash line with four extra-base hits in 20 games in April. That said, we still aren’t going to let him near 1B.
