Why did MLB promote Lindor apparently breaking the rules?

So a reminder that I do not make MLB’s rules, MLB does.  Here is one that I personally find silly and encourage MLB to eliminate.

Notice that last part there.  Players of opposing team.  ANY time.  While in uniform.

So I find it odd that MLB would PROMOTE such behavior.

So will MLB be promoting things like “Here’s Pitcher X Using Spade Tack!” – of course not.

The rule is silly, but it is a rule.  To promote an apparent violation makes no sense.
