The 2012 Mets went 74-88. The 2021 bunch won’t lose that many games, but they are a far far far far far far worse more disgraceful team than the 2012 squad.
Ask any real Mets fan and they will tell you how great that season was.

That’s it. Forever that.
Forget about “Take Back New York” – you have some work to do. You need to win back your own fans.
Never mind Baez being a fool, or a few other players going along with it.
Where are the silent players? Where is Pete Alonso, who never met a microphone he didn’t like, where is Pete saying, “That was wrong. I apologize to the fans.” Where is deGrom? Where is Thor who had time to cuckold Mrs. Met and to run a bookclub but can’t shame his teammates on this?
I’m not mad at you because you lost baseball games. It’s never about that. It’s about the summers. And this summer you broke the covenant.
This is going to take 7-8 years to heal, until every single 2021 Mets player who was on the roster that week is gone.
Clean house Steve. Absolutely Clean House. The best thing you could do is come back with three quarters of the roster overturned. It’s not like you have a winning bunch here anyway. Start over. Clean. Eliminate this sin.
