Baseball isn’t fun. I watched Max Scherzer

I actually put on baseball for the first time in over a month and….. it is boring.

I was into the Max Scherzer of it all. And I was enjoying the Reds rookie making Lindor (boooo) and Vulgar Pete look terrible – note to all opposing managers, if you throw Pete a two strike pitch low and away he will flail at it every time – also I hope the other playoff teams don’t have left handed pitchers

Anyway the game was fine enough and then the Reds started making pitching changes with two outs in the 5th and the game then started becoming more and more slow.

I’ve suggested this before but here’s what baseball needs to do…

Pitching changes are announced from the dugout like a pinch hitter. We don’t need an old guy walking to the mound to get a baseball to hand the baseball to the next guy.

Much like a batter the new pitcher should come in ready and immediately. None of this warmup pitches nonsense. We don’t take practice swings, we don’t get test runs to second base and we don’t have someone hit us a few grounders. Are you ready or not?

Then there is the baseball problem of home runs and Ks. This game desperately needs Herzog ball to return.

So baseball, I know you’re always trying to court the Casual Baseball Fan – which is me now thanks to your mismanagement – and the product wasn’t interesting.
