Very exciting. Having done the Yankees-Red Sox series, I would advise you to plan a London trip where you see London, and allot 5 hours for the baseball part – the vaguely British part will be more interesting to you than the actual baseball (baseball is boring, and they seem to bring the juiced baseballs overseas).
I’m sure there will be some T-Shirt Wearing Enthusiasts who will be happy to keep you company. But don’t make your trip ONLY baseball, that would be silly.
London has excellent mass transit so stay somewhere cool and commute to the game.
Steve Cohen has resurfaced, providing a quote (as everyone continues to push this Alex narrative)
“Alex and I are thrilled the Mets will play in the MLB 2024 London Series,” “Interest in baseball is growing all over the world and to bring the Mets ‘never-say-die’ attitude to sports fans in London is a tremendous honor. Our Queens family is ready to show London a great time with exciting baseball and amazing experiences that create new fans and build the Mets community throughout the United Kingdom.”
As I have said in the past, the Red Sox-Yankees series was INVISIBLE in London unless you were at the event. It had the visibility that a Red Bulls – Revolution game has in Manhattan.
Followers of mine in twitter have said there’s even less buzz on this year, and that tickets were still available.
Anyway, could be fun, and I hope to attend.
Some random pics from my trip to the first London Series.
