A source apparently described the Mets and Brewers as “within Field Goal Range” for trading Vulgar Pete to the Brewers. That would have been amazing. Hopefully such a trade will happen this off-season.
Meanwhile, Vulgar Pete told reporters
“I love representing this organization. I love being a Met,” “I love representing the city of New York the best way I possibly can. I love everybody in the clubhouse. Being a Met, it’s the only thing I know. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now I’m a Met. And I love being a Met.”
Were that true, Pete would know there is no F in Let’s Go Mets. Trade him, while there is still some value to be had.
Pete Alonso’s .856 OPS makes him the 10th best first baseman in the majors!, just behind Famous Baseball Player Christian Walker who is .272 28 HR and 84 RBI with a .875 OPS – but Pete is irreplaceable you say.
