The 5th left-hander to reach 300 wins is the 75th inductee into the Baseball Hall of Immortals.
Tom Glavine could have been a hockey star. The Massachusetts native was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1984 but instead choose to sign with the Atlanta Braves who drafted him the same year. Within 3 years Glacine would be starting for the Braves on his way to a 22-year career in the majoe leagues.
A two-time Cy Young Award winner, Glavine reached double-digits in wins 18 times, including 5 20-win seasons (leading the league each time).
Following 17 years with the Braves and 5 years with the Mets, Glavine retired with 305 victories (to just 203 losses), a 3.54 ERA and 2,607 strikeouts.
A dominant starter for two decades, Tom Glavine is without a doubt an Immortal.
