Uncle Steve tells Mets fans he doesn’t need to be popular

This is an interesting development.  Uncle Steve mixing it up with fans.

My prediction has been and continues to be – Uncle Steve is gonna love twitter until some moron is rude to Mrs. Cohen and then….watch out.

The Post recapped these exchanges…

“What exactly are we doing? Is [catcher] James McCann really going to be our biggest pickup this offseason? Please say no.”

Cohen then added: “Let me put it differently. Don’t you think someone will take our money? It just has to make sense.”

When another Twitter user tagged him in a post saying “time to hibernate until Spring Training,” Cohen shot back, “That’s the spirit, just give up and go to sleep…I don’t need to be popular, I just need to make good decisions.”  (NY Post)

There are some pointing out that signing a catcher, some middle relievers and a first base coach is a typical Wilpon Off-Season.

Others are saying that getting Thor back is just like signing a #2 starter!

It should be interesting to see what happens when Steve raises ticket prices or the Mets miss an 8 team playoff again.

It will also be interesting to see how soon Steve gets off twitter.   Steve, if there’s one thing I can tell you first hand- if you want to be UN-popular, be on twitter all day and tell it like it is.  Most people don’t want to hear it.  Oh and Steve – trade Pete Alonso while you can still get near-max value on him.  You know about selling high and buying on the dips, right?  Sell high.  While you still can.
