One of my many many many unpopular opinions that you guys will eventually come around on is the Gary and Ron booth.
Yes we love the Gary KEITH and Ron booth, but when Keith isn’t there, it’s like George hanging out with Eliane. They seems to have nothing to talk about. I more often than not wind up turning those games off as they have no excitement – baseball is boring, and you don’t have Keith doing his modern day Rizzuto thing to keep it interesting.
Last night I quickly noticed that Gary and Todd Zeile had way more chemistry. Gary was almost interviewing Todd, and getting a lot of out him. (and WHERE IS KEITH?)
My guess is – Ron is the steady wife who has been there for ever and Gary has heard every story that Ron has. Last night it was like Gary was on a date, and he perked up accordingly.
I think SNY needs to recast Gelbs. When Keith isn’t there they should let Gelbs sit in the booth with Gary and Ron just to bring some energy to the booth – because after a decade and half, the magic is gone with Gary and Ron.
