Sometimes I stumble across stuff researching other posts.
The year is 1962 and quoting the article lined below, “Will the Mets make money this year?”
Ah 1962….my grandfather’s old Mets Police Newsletter was mailed out once a month. He would write excitedly of how the Mets honored the old Giants and Dodgers (they had an Olde Timers’ Day), how great the uniforms looked (he particularly liked the blue caps) and how excited he was about the move to Flushing Meadows Stadium (note that there were to be No Obstructed Views, a technology lost to the 1960’s)…although the $3.50 price for box seats was an insult to working class Mets fans!
