This man is named Lee Mazzilli.
He has Major League experience as a manager with the Baltimore Orioles. In 2004 he went 78-84 (.481) and finished up 129-140. It’s not awesome but it does compare to the .481 ball that Terry Collins had in his last job with the Anaheim Angels. Collins has managed a team to the postseason as many times as Mazzilli.
Mazzilli was part of a successful Yankees run from 2000-2003 and again in 2006, learning at the right hand of Joe Torre.
Mr. Mazzilli is a fan favorite who played for the New York Mets in two stints, and was part of the last group to win a championship in Flushing 25 seasons ago.
Please give Mr. Mazzilli an interview before you move to the second round.
Thanks!
Yep, and he knows how to wear the Mets colors of black, orange, blue and white. 🙂
Ouch
I like Lee as a bench coach to Wally.
