I own one of these and use it on holiday weekends. I’d like to see the Mets wear it when they wear the S&S caps. It would solve the color mismatches. All of the variant S&S caps would go with it.

actually, walt — that photo is from 2006…i should probably update it…
i have no problem with said jersey as a fan jersey…but that’s ALL it is and should be — other than the color(s), this is essentially what the mets did when they created the black alternate — turned a fan product into an on-field product, presumably to move more merch
i get that shannon is into having the cap match the jersey (believe me, my OCD goes into overdrive when they pair the S&S caps with the regular uniform), and it would *only* be worn when the cap is worn, but it’s still just a fashion jersey
i would assume that this jersey is made available for every MLB team, if the mets have one? lets say the mets are wearing their S&S caps — and their opponents are as well — do BOTH teams wear the S&S tops? are they full unis? does one team have a gray (road) counterpart?
do you see where this is going?
