How about trading Murphy for Michael Pineda in Seattle. He is a young somewhat promising starting pitcher. He seems to have decent stuff. As much as I like Murphy and his attitude and the way he plays. He just doesn’t have a position. I know the old saying, never trade a position player for a pitcher, but I think it could work. The Mariners seem to be light at 1B; 3B & DH.
I imagine it’s Tejada/Turner/Murphy that are a shot at getting traded. probably some prospects as well. And Pelfrey/Pagan depending on if they sign/trade for someone to replace them, which they don’t currently have.
