The most boring Mets game ever and other things that will annoy you

I have been watching Mets games since 1977 and last night’s was the most boring game the franchise ever played.  Just boring.  Not even boring in a good way where I could write another paragraph about it.  Just boring.

The upside down P on d’Arnaud’s jersey is annoying the sisk out of me.  It looks terrible.

Now some people will say who cares.  These are the same people that didn’t realize how awful the dropshadow was until it was gone.  These are the people who liked the hybrid caps.  These are the people who were satisfied with the opening of Mariners Stadium Citi Field in 2009.

Twitter tells me that the Mets don’t have a way to make a lowercase d.  It’s some sort of fabric and scissors.  It really can’t be that hard.  They figured out a way to make a tiny Los in script.  Then they figured out how to make a half size Los and a half size Mets.

The guy from @the7line took a shot.  He was unhappy with his own work but it’s already better than the P.

proposed d'Arnaud Mets lettering lowercase d

The Mets need to solve this lowercase conundrum if they are going to keep signing players like den Dekker.

My solution is to just not have names on the back. If you don’t know who number 5 is then I don’t want you around anyway. When I buy the team we will be eliminating the names and going back to a nice classic look. Good enough for Gil Hodges, good enough for you.

Has Channel 11 synced the sound with the picture yet? It couldn’t have just been my set since others were retweeting me. Pretty annoying.

Will the Mets ever play at 7pm again? There is only one 7pm game between now and Friday.

I am thinking about not renewing my 15 game plan. I would put the chances at 95% that I do renew, but it’s up for discussion. I just don’t enjoy Citi Field as much as the Mets think I do. I may even dump Game 15 of my plan and just call it a season.

The Mets are on pace for 75 wins and the GM doesn’t know who will take every 5th start and he has two guys with alleged innings limits except for the actual innings limits. They went to the pen early last night – I guess Harvey gets to use 9 of his innings again.

But I am told things are better in Queens and people get really really annoyed when I suggest that they aren’t and the MLB is still counting Team Wins as an important stat. EY Jr is batting .247 and Lagares is .258 but the outfield is better I am told.

At least Ike has 7 home runs. Jason Bay was released by the Seattle for .204 11 and 20. I guess he doesn’t walk enough.

  1. I was there, in the flesh.. From the Quintanilla back up backhand to the Teufel neutering of Ike (this requiring little effort as Ike only had one left), it was even worse in person. Mr. Harvey, please make it better today..I don’t want to have buyers remorse in the form of a sunburn…

  2. The current outfield is can be relied upon to catch fly balls that major league outfielders are expected to catch. That alone makes it infinitely better than what was out there to start the season.

  3. The best thing that can happen this season is that it ends!

Other than Harvey and Wheeler this team was a mess!

This franchise is in danger of losing their fan base. What little they have left.

The front office gets no more passes! ……it is time to field a real team next year and stop the double talk!
