Yesterday was a fun crazy town day on Twitter.
The day started with @mediagoon sending me an article that was printed on one of those old-fashioned papyrus based collection of the day before’s news and tweets. In that story we were told Daniel Murphy should pack his bags. After all, Dilson Herrera had had three hits, raising his career average to .227! This was Dilson’s “BREAKOUT GAME” So sorry Murph you are gone.
Then, down at AAA where minor leaguers pitch against minor leaguers, Noah Syndergaard had a nice outing. Hooray! Immediately fans wanted him in the ML rotation, which makes a lot of sense when you factor in several things:
– most major league teams successfully have all 5 starters take every scheduled start all year.
– the Mets are only in first place instead of super-first place.
– the Mets only had a 4 game lead.
– Dillon Gee, who we could run out of town, had given up a total of 4 runs in his last three starts. If your 5th starter is going to pitch that badly you should trade him and bring up a minor leaguer.
– Jon Niese, who we could also run out of town, has an ERA lower than Matt Harvey, but we don’t like the way he gets there, so screw Jon Niese he’s gone too.
Also, a reminder that these same Twitter Nuts bashed Colon all winter but now love him. The world was gonna end if he started on Opening Day! I read that on the papyrus as well.
I read Michael Conforto had three hits facing minor league pitching, so I am declaring him ready, and thus Cuddyer has to go. He can go in the Niese, Gee, Murphy and Cuddyer for a Shortstop trade.
You are all insane.
