Oh wait a fun day in what we used to call The Sunday Papers before we all got the internet.
Bill Madden wins the trophy as the first to float the Wright Is Done idea. While not totally committing to the idea, he floats it and even mentions Don Mattingly. Interesting.
Now combine that with some articles where the Mets want to trade Murphy and move Flores to 2B and play Reynolds. That’s nice and all but what about Dilson Herrera? I thought Dilson was The Chosen One? What happens to poor Dilson?
Anyway, no matter how much you try to get rid of Murph you can’t….
But much as Alderson would like to trade Murphy and shed his $8 million salary, he needs to keep him, if nothing else as an $8 million insurance policy for Wright at third base.

…and I’ve seen this movie before. If Wright comes back and Flores is the 2B it will be about an hour and a half until Duda suffers a season ending injury.
Murph has a 5 game hitting streak. Get him and his crazy $8 million salary out of here!
