Terry Watch Watch: Buster Olney floats the idea of moving on now!

The Terry Watch Watch watches to see what others are saying about a potential Terry Watch.

At 68 years old, Collins — a baseball lifer — might prefer to get to the finish line of the season. Or, if the Mets don’t intend to bring back Collins, maybe they could offer him the opportunity to go home for the final weeks of the season

Whoa – maybe they “offer” him the chance to go home for the final weeks?

So what does that look like?  A press conference where Terry graciously says it’s time to let the new guy get the feel for the club?   And if so – who is that new guy?

That’s right, as I have been telling you, it’s Tim Teufel.  I can’t imagine the “hey I’m leaving 4 weeks early, here is Dick Scott” presser.  And you’re not brining in someone from out of the organization on September 3rd.   So it’s another idea pointing in the direction of next Mets manager Tim Teufel who has spent the year getting to know the Mets minor leaguers.   See?  Get it now?
