SLACKISH REACTION: Calm down about the Stanton thing. He was never coming to Queens. What you don’t want to do now is peer pressure Jeff into having Sandy make a “splash” move just to calm the natives. This year is a rebuild so put your feet up and enjoy….
…and if you like watching baseball there are things to watch here. What do we get out of 150 games of Dom and Amed (unless Mets lose their minds and handcuff Dom)? Hopefully Conforto comes back sooner than later. You forget how exciting Cespedes can be because he wasn’t really around. Jake and Thor. Even The Dark Knght’s storyline will be fun to watch.
If you can’t get a summer out of that you might as well become a Yankees fan. Is that roster going to win? No. The rebuild started last May, you need to get your head around it, and you may have to endure more pain before it gets better.
NOT LINKING: various rants about Stanton, players the Mets COULD get, and I absolutely love that the Mets have a problem at second base. I hope they go through 2Bs for the next 30 years the way they once went through third basemen.
The good news is I already own a Starlin Castro t-shirt! Why? I was at Wrigley one day and it was far warmer than I thought it was going to be, so I needed a lighter shirt and all things being equal I went with the new rookie they were excited about.

Since we’re discussing trades… Mets have made it clear to other teams that they’re open to trading starting pitchers not named deGrom or Syndergaard. But no traffic there thus far. You figure one of those guys could be used in deal for second baseman.
