That JDG home run did kinda remind me of Pendleton. Older Mets fans know exactly what I mean. There was a time when September 11th was a thing before September 11th.
Anyway, I will stay on message – the math was always incredible. The Mets did overcome the incredible math and were in control of their own destiny for a date. And now the math has kicked back in. You can’t play .750 ball forever. The Mets, this may shock you, are only onetime over .500! For a team that was while hot, they very easily wind up playing .480 ball this season – or maybe they wake up and keep this interesting for a month.
I also think they wind up finishing like 5 out, and you all wake up from your hangover wondering why you traded Vargas away to replace him with Stroman..mortgaging the future even further. 2020 will be key as you will have The Five Aces, Pete, McNeil, Conforto, Rosario…can’t believe I am saying this, and cap tip to you Wags….and J.D. Davis that we all made fun of (was actually Wags’ best move). There’s plenty to be hopeful about.
So here we are…enjoy the Meaningful Games…let the comedians and the LFGM Morons go back to wherever they hang out when the Mets lose games….and you, me and the true Mets fans can enjoy September. LGM.

FWIW after several weeks of amazing blog numbers, yesterday the numbers went back down to how it had been all year. Frontruners are really something.
And as I predicted….and loudly said….I got beat up in the streets when the Mets were winning because I am so negative. And now the Mets lose 6 in a row, I stay consistent, and I am a shill! I’m not negative, nor am I the most positive Mets fan. I’m just me and the fanbase swings from my left to my right like crazy people. A bunch of yahoos show up and act like they are the biggest fans ever with their brand new Pete Alonso jerseys….and those same people will check out now.
