Mets trying to sell tickets (duh)

Media Goon shared an email offering him Opening Day tickets, and Peter sent the below. As I understand economics, unless every ticket is sold you might as well keep trying.

I do find it late in the game to be pushing the Opener. I wonder what kind of crowd we’ll see. Does Passover factor in?

And the Opening Weekend – usually there’s excitement there, but I mwouldnt expect sellouts that early.

I will be at the opener and the Saturday game.

Now that I’ve fed the Negative Crowd I am flipping the keys to @mediagoon. I left him lots of posts and if I didn’t tell you I’m going away you wouldn’t know. Have fun!

That’s a screen grab so the link won’t work but you guys are good at Google.

The Conference for the 50th Anniversary of the New York Mets

Attached you will find a PDF with all the information about Hofstra’s Mets 50th anniversary conference which is April 26-28 and is in memory of Dana Brand.

I have been looking forward to this for two years or so when Dana first mentioned it and I had contacted him letting him know I was tremendously interested.

Dana passed away last year but the good folks at Hofstra, and closer to my world Greg Prince from Faith & Fear have carried the torch for what should be a great few days.

I’ll have a lot to say about this coming up – but I’m heading out on a family vacation (@mediagoon will be in charge but I have left 30+ posts ready to go and they are actually pretty good) and can’t dive in tonight (writing this Thursday night instead of watching Community).

So check out the pdf and I hope you sign up and attend.  I’m particularly interested in this panel on Saturday..

WOW!!! Thanks Daniel!!!!!!

Folks, the next campaign for this blog is that we’re going to get this guy voted on to the All Star team. Y’all with me?

This is really awesome. I started the #imwith28 thing on twitter a few springs ago when those meanies in the mainstream media were writing this guy off . I love Dan’s hustle and willingness to play anywhere.

Last year i started hanging out during most of the games on twitter (@metspolice) and started using the hashtag around Daniel’s at bats. I particularly enjoy when Dan is up in a big spot and I tweet “Wait for it….” and then when he knocks in some runs a bunch of us punch in #imwith28.

I hope it catches on even more this summer and enters the lexicon.

If you’d like to express your support for our favorite player in t-shirt form click the link.

Thanks again to Daniel, to @mediagoon for the design, @the7line for making the tees look good and the behind the scenes folks who know who they are and made this happen.
