Not from 2011 but on my computer….the man himself.

This next is one of my all-time favorites. Hopefully some day there will be a third man who can stand in a photo with these guys.

..and hopefully fewer days like this.

 

David Wright escaped Joe Torre’s uniform policing. In theory that orange undershirt is not allowed.

Remember the night this guy was at the game? Check out the jersey.

The 9/11/11 ceremony was one of the finest ceremonies I can recall, even if Joe Torre was a jerk in my opinion.

Happy anniversary Mets!

As we head toward the 2012 championship, the most important Mets player is Johan Santana.

After Johan, it’s our buddy Dan Murphy. His offense will be key, and if the Mets can swap out the traditional pairing of stud-at-SS/bum-at-2B with eh-at-SS/stud-at-2B things might just be ok.  (David Wright is important but he’s a constant.)

So to celebrate Dan (until the t-shirts get printed) here’s a look back at 2011 screen grabs.

 

Yesterday I mentioned that I was looking for a cool way to display my jerseys while having them still be available…Pete mentioned he has the same problem.

Man I need to get my hands on a road swoosh. They have aged well. I don’t want the Mets to change their uniforms ever again now that they have restored perfection, but as something to wear on the weekend I wouldn’t mind. I don’t suppose any of you are selling one? I also never got the orange BP. I didn’t have the disposable income back then.

I think today I will go blue swoosh. It’s funny, I was off all week and didn’t wear any Mets gear, and now that it’s Saturday I have the craving.
