Mets Release Bay

So the inevitable finally happened. Of course I am here napping at work when Mr. Shark put me on assignment. Jason Bay no longer a Met.

I just grabbed this from Metsblog.

The Mets announced negotiated an early expiration of Jason Bay’s contract, the team announced.

“Jason has a tremendous work ethic. There was never any question about it,” Sandy Alderson said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the results weren’t there and we are in a results-oriented business. We thank Jason for his efforts and wish him well.”

The agreement grants Bay his unconditional release, and he will be removed from the roster – terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“There’s not a player who tried harder to succeed or was more frustrated and disappointed than Jason himself,” Terry Collins said. “I’ll miss Jason’s presence in the clubhouse as a player, teammate, and person.”

Bay signed a four-year, $66 million contract with the Mets before the 2010 season. He was to earn $16 million in 2013. The team held a $17 million option for 2014 with a $3 million buyout.

And also according to John Heyman, Bay will get his full 2013 salary.

Donate Canned Food At The7Line Calendar

I am 99% sure I will be there for the unveiling and the party. It was a fun time last year and it was fun helping Darren of The7line with the behind the scenes video and photos for the promo video and calendar. For those of you attending, there will also be a canned food drive set up at McFadden’s for the victims of Huriicane Sandy. There will be more info after the pics.

Come out to McFadden’s Citi Field for our 2013 calendar release party and canned food drive! Party starts at 8pm!

Bring non perishable canned food to donate to the victims of hurricane Sandy. Not mandatory of course but definitely encouraged.

As a huge thank you to all you fans, McFadden’s is running a FREE BEER “fan appreciation” special from 8-10pm.

This will be a night to remember! The season is over but McFadden’s will be rocking.

We will unveil the calendar cover just before the signing begins. Last year there was a collage of five girls. This years it’s just one. Our first calendar cover girl!

Every calendar girl will be in the house. Come meet Bonnie, Kerri, Stephanie, Chantalle, Ilya, Athena, Courtney, Diana, Nicole, Piti, Fatima and Calise. Have them sign your calendar and snap some photos with the girls.

NO COVER!

DJ Doug O’Mara (legendary Boardy Barn resident DJ) and MC Summer John will be in the booth.

Calendar sponsor: McFadden’s Citi Field
Co sponsors: On The Black, Mets Bro, GFQ Network and Read The Apple.

See you there!

Also don’t forget you can also donate by buying the uNitY shirt from the7line. All proceeds go to the people affected by Hurricane Sandy. Click here.
