Mets Food Drive Nov. 14

Free parking for drop-off of food only

Fans who donate 10 items or more will receive a voucher for a pair of tickets to an April game.

One voucher per donor.

Each donor will also receive a discount coupon for 15% off merchandise in the Mets Team Store for that day only. Season Ticket Holders will receive 20% with STH identification card.

Fans dropping off food may park in Lot G on 126th Street between the Right Field Gate and Roosevelt Avenue.

 

City Harvest is working to help meet the needs of Hurricane Sandy victims while continuing to feedhungry New Yorkers through its network of emergency food partners.  In addition to daily deliveries to soup kitchens and food pantries across the five boroughs, City Harvest has been making emergency food drop-offs to Staten Island, Coney Island and Red Hook in Brooklyn, Breezy Point and Rockaway in Queens, and Manhattan.

New York Mets Donate to Sandy Victims

The New York Mets have joined the Daily News’ disaster relief fund, lending major league support to assist the countless New Yorkers whose lives were devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Mets Chief Operating Officer Jeff Wilpon told The News Sunday that the team is thrilled to join the fund, kicked off by the paper’s $100,000 contribution Saturday.
“We’re happy to help in any way we can,” Wilpon said.

the Mets have also made the facilities at their minor league complex on Coney Island – MCU Park – available and FEMA has set up a distribution center for food, water and other supplies there.

According to Chris Miller, spokesman for the city Office of Emergency Management, the Mets immediately offered help for the /blockquote>
