The crowd was electric. The energy was the best I have ever seen at Citi despite the late start time. The crowd was hungry for playoff baseball, something the Mets have gone almost a decade without. The game itself was awesome. Granderson, d’Arnaud, and Cespedes sent the crowd into a frenzy with their hitting last night. It was just amazing. It was great seeing all us fans finally get a home playoff game and a win at the new ballpark.
Now let’s get to the negatives-
I rarely agree with Shannon with CitiField might not be able to hold a crowd, but what was going on at the men’s rooms. I have never see lines that long for the men’s restrooms and so short for the ladies ones before. The crowd walking. I felt like I was in a walker heard from The Walking Dead. People don’t know how to walk. The extended concession lines snaked into the walkways and messed with the traffic flow a bit. I see that Chipotle hired a guy from Starbucks to show how to expedite the lines at the stores. Maybe the Mets need to hire this guy too. I never get why the lines are always so slow at the regular concession stands. Oh, and dos anyone notice the new Budweiser Burger stand down by Two Boots Pizza? Where did that come from?
The complaint about NJ. No one told you to move to NJ. So that complaint is out the window.
The worst part of the night was the start time. It’s just a horrible horrible thing to have an almost 9 pm start time. I hate when Sunday night baseball happens and Insure as hell hate the start times we have been getting.
I was also shocked about how fast security got us though the gates into the stadium. But leaving the stadium forcing everyone up the stairs to the train station to cross over Roosevelt Ave to get to the parking lot was crazy. That was a bigger traffic jam then leaving the lots to head home.
If I didn’t have to work today, I would be at the game again tonight. I enjoyed it. I was glad to be there. I had a great time. If you go to enough games you find out the bathrooms no one uses or which lines tend to move the fastest. It was a great atmosphere last night! Playoff baseball folks is awesome.

Mets Fans: Calm Down.
Yes. Yes. I know Utley is a dirty player. We have seen it in the past with him while he played all those years in Philly. I am not happy at all with Tejada having his fibula broken. It is a shame a damn shame. I have been reading on twitter that some fans want to bring in batteries to toss at Utley at tomorrow’s game. If you folks are being serious you are no better then Phillies fan that Utley used to play in front of. As fans we have the right to be upset, to boo the hell out of the other team players, and to hope that our Mets team uses this to fire themselves up.
Am I hoping that the Mets police this themselves and get some sort of payback. Yes. I admit that I am. What we don’t need are 40 thousand something vigilantes tossing stuff at players on the field. Most of you would just hit a fellow Mets fan doing something like that,
Just enjoy the game. Let’s see what Karma has in store for Utley and let us not resort to Phillies fan type tactics. Be cool people. Be cool.
Also here is what some MLB Players have said about the slide.
Jose Reyes @lamelaza_7
that was a really weak attempt at a slide by utley
You change the rule at home, how do you not change the rule at 2nd?
Like it or not, Utley plays hard and I would want him on my team.
It bothered me to see Utley’s slide and the way he went after Tejada. Being a 2nd base man he needed to think how to break the DP not his leg
Since when was starting your slide past the bag OK? I get that you’re playing hard but that was not a slide, that was a dive! #cmonman
If that was a superstar shortstop we would have a Tulo Rule being enforced tomorrow
Cricket at CitiField
GLOBAL CRICKET LEGENDS TO PLAY ON AMERICAN SOIL FOR FIRST TIME
Cricket Legends Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne Headline
“Cricket All-Star Series” at Citi Field on Saturday, November 7
FLUSHING, NY – October 6, 2015 – Global cricket superstars Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne headline a star-studded lineup of renowned players from around the world in the inaugural “Cricket All-Star Series” Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m at Citi Field. (Gates open at 11:30 a.m.) The New York event is part of a three-city tour marking the first time these icons have played in the United States. It also renews the famous rivalry between “Master Blaster” Tendulkar and “King of Spin” Warne.
Tickets go on sale to the general public this Thursday, October 8 at Mets.com/Cricket. The “Cricket All-Star Series” will include a special opening ceremony prior to the match as well as other functions and galas. For more information on Cricket All-Stars, visit: CricketAllStarsLeague.com
The format will be T20, a much shorter and boisterous form of cricket with the games taking around three hours instead of multiple days. Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and Australian spinner Shane Warne will each captain a hand-picked team. “Sachin’s Blasters” and “Warne’s Warriors” will feature some of the best players to ever play cricket hailing from eight different countries including Ricky Ponting (Australia), Brian Lara (West Indies), Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka), Wasim Akram (Pakistan), Jonty Rhodes (South Africa) and Michael Vaughan (England), among others.
“Americans are so passionate about sports, and I think there’s a huge potential for cricket to take off,” said Sachin Tendulkar. “This is also the first time that international cricket will be played in these beautiful baseball stadiums in New York City, Houston and Los Angeles, which will be a lot of fun. We’re also planning some other events and festivities in each city so we can reach as many fans as possible.”
“We’ve signed all the top players you’d ever want to see,” said Shane Warne. “I’m excited for cricket fans in the United States to be able to see these amazing players for the first time, and I also think that the T20 format will appeal to new audiences who have never seen or played cricket before. I’m really looking forward to the matches in November, and helping to grow the sport of cricket in America.”
Two other matches will be played in the states on November 11 at Minute Maid Park in Houston with the final match in the series on November 14 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
“Cricket All-Stars” is being produced by NYC-based Leverage Agency, a full-service sports and entertainment marketing company. Leverage will also handle the marketing and promotion for the event.
“It’s been a dream of mine to bring the best of cricket to America,” said Ben Sturner, CEO of Leverage Agency. “Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world and we couldn’t ask for better partners than Sachin and Shane on this new venture.”
