The Mets just announced new perks, pricing, and incentives. I can’t really delve too far into it right now because as I am covering for Shannon, I am busy with my real job. We can break this all down later.

METS RESCALE TICKET PRICING FOR 2012

LEADING TO LOWER PRICES FOR MOST SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

Limited Number of Full-Season Tickets For Less Than $1,000

Dynamic Pricing for 2012 Expands Price Options for All Fans

FLUSHING, N.Y., October 4, 2011 – The New York Mets today announced they have rescaled ticket pricing at Citi Field, leading to lower prices for the majority of Season Ticket Holders for 2012. No Season Ticket Holder will see an increase in their invoice for next season. Season Ticket Holders will also receive new early renewal incentives and season-long benefits.

The majority of Season Ticket Holders will pay less for their seats in 2012:

· 80% of seats will have a reduction of approximately 5% or greater

· 57% of seats will have a reduction of 10% or greater

· 35% will have a cut of 20% or more

· 18% will have a drop of 30% or more

· More than 15,000 seats will cost less than $25 per game

Some of the deepest Season Ticket Holder price reductions are in the following seating categories: Caesars Silver (39%); Caesars Gold (34%); Promenade Outfield (33%); Promenade Box (30%); and Promenade Gold (30%).

The Mets have consolidated or expanded seating categories throughout the ballpark, which allows many Season Ticket Holders the opportunity to upgrade their locations at no extra cost.

Renewal Incentives

Season Ticket Holders who renew and pay in full by November 7, 2011, will receive admission to four exclusive events with unprecedented access to Mets players and front-office staff, including batting practice at Citi Field and an autograph session with Mets players.

The Amazin’ Mets Perks program will expand in 2012 with new benefits and exclusive experiences. Fans must pay in full or select a three-month or six-month payment plan by November 7, 2011 to be eligible for Amazin’ Mets Perks.

The Mets will hold their first ever “Select-A-Seat” event Thursday, November 17 through Saturday, November 19 at Citi Field, providing Season Ticket Holders with the opportunity to upgrade their locations with their dedicated Account Service Executive, based on seniority.

Club Access

All Season Ticket Holders – regardless of seat location – will have access to the Caesars Club, Acela Club and Promenade Club.

Champions Club

The Champions Club will become a members-only, all-inclusive area. Members will have access to some of the best seats at the ballpark with premium food and non-alcoholic beverage options at no additional cost.

Special Season Tickets for Less Than $1,000

The Mets will introduce a limited number of Full-Season Tickets for only $12 per seat, per game, or $972 for the entire season. The limit is six seats per account.

Dynamic Pricing

The Mets will introduce dynamic pricing for 2012 single game tickets. The face value of single game tickets will initially be offered in March 2012 at prices at or below 2011 prices. As time progresses, those prices may be adjusted on a real-time basis, either upwards or downwards, based on market demand. The ability for the Mets to adjust prices throughout the season will provide all fans with a variety of pricing options.

However, the Mets will not price single game tickets in Season Ticket Holder areas below the Season Ticket Holder discounted prices.

The dynamic pricing system will be powered by Qcue, Inc., which provides dynamic pricing for live entertainment and sports teams including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals. In addition, Qcue works with clubs in the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League.

The Mets also announced they have selected Tickets.com Inc., the global leader of integrated, high-performance ticketing solutions, as their ticketing technology provider using the company’s ProVenue® platform.

Complete Season Ticket Holder information is available at Mets.com or by calling (718) 507-TIXX. The Mets will release information on Ticket Plans and Packs in the coming weeks.

Judge: the Trustee (Picard) may recover defendants’ net profits simply by proving that defendants did not provide value for monies received/
9/27/11 5:16 PMSpeaking with expert who agrees with my interpretation. $700M very hard to prove for Picard because has to almost show they knew Ponzi But the fictitious profits is in good shape for Picard. Only question is whether $83M or $379M depending on state of limitations.

From Reuters.com

A Manhattan federal judge on Tuesday threw out part of a $1 billion lawsuit against owners of the New York Mets baseball team by the trustee seeking money for victims of Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.

U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff dismissed all but two claims by the trustee Irving Picard against the Mets owners, including Fred Wilpon, Saul Katz and others at Sterling Equities.

One of the claims alleges actual fraud. The other would require the defendants’ claims against the bankruptcy estate of Madoff’s firm to be subordinated to those of others.

A spokeswoman for Picard said the trustee had no comment pending a “thorough evaluation” of the opinion. Lawyers for the Mets owners were not available for comment.

Mario Cuomo, the former New York governor mediating the dispute, also had no immediate comment.

UPDATE

From NY TIMES.COM (click for full Story)

United States District Court Judge Jed S. Rakoff let stand the trustee’s claim that the team’s owners were willfully blind to warnings that Madoff was possibly engaged in a fraud during their many years of investing with him and seemed to clear the way for the trustee, Irving H. Picard, to force the men to return the profits they earned from their investments with Madoff.

But as a consequence of Rakoff’s ruling — a complex decision involving bankruptcy and securities law — the trustee at most could force the owners, Fred Wilpon andSaul Katz, to turn over $300 million to $400 million.

I have no idea what it will all end up meaning but here ya go folks. Digest.

Shannon Will Be Jealous: #IMWITH28

Since I have acquired Precinct 41, I realized I do not have that much Mets “stuff” for it’s walls. So, today(Sunday 9/25) I decided that I was going to purchase some game used “stuff” while I was at the game. I walked down to the Amazing Memorabilia kiosk down on field level to see what I could find for myself. The 2 game used bases for $400 bucks picqued my interest. The bases usually run for $250 a piece.

I went up to the very helpful guys working the kiosk and asked if they had any bases from the last year at Shea and from the first year at CitiField left. They were unsure what the stock was but both were pretty low. They called down to the main team store in the Rotunda where the person down there said they had three left from 2008. One of them had an autograph on it. It was Dan Murphy signed second base. I asked the price of that and they said it was part of the 2 for $400 base deal. Of course I said,”I WILL TAKE IT.” The other base I got in the deal was a third base from 2009.

Each base comes with a hologram with an authentication number you can look up on the MLB website.

I looked it up and this is the info about the base:
Its from the June 28,2008
NY Yankees @ NY Mets, Innings 4-6
Signed April 28,2009

The info on this one is: Marlins @Mets

April 29,2009

3rd base from innings 1-3

I was pretty shocked to see I got a base from a game the Mets played against the Yankees.I am so stoked that I got these, although when Shannon comes over to hang I might have to keep an eye on him if he gets too close to them.

Crowd Shot 9/25

I guess I’m on crowd shot duty today. A lot of red and weird to hear cheers for the Phillies batters. Also here’s today’s giveaway Mets headphones and a subway points card for a free sub, just can’t use it at citifield.

Mets to Have Pre Game Rock Show on Tuesday

With the season winding down this week, the Mets are having rock band COUNCIL play this Tuesday before the game with the Reds.

METSTALK.COM: You’ll be playing at Citi Field on September 27th before the Mets take on the Cincinnati Reds. How did the band get the chance to play there and at what other venues and with what other bands have you played?
PAT: Well it’s really Lori Martini that gave us this chance. We met her at our Sullivan Hall show in March and realized very quickly we were all huge New York Mets fans. She proposed the idea of our band making a rock version of her song, “Believe.” [–Editor’s Note: Mets fans may recognize that song as one of Justin Turner’s walk-up songs.]
We thought it was a great idea and that got the ball rolling for us to be playing at Citi Field.

You can see more of the interview here from Citycynic.com and you can also check out the band here.
