How about some Staub XXL jerseys for the fat guys?

A friend of mine was admiring my cool new blue Mets jersey and wanted to order one for himself.  However, he’s um…”broad shouldered” and wanted an XXL.  These don’t come in XXL.

Come on Mitchell & Ness, make some XXLs!

What would be cooler than this broad-shouldered friend of mine (who is a redhead by the way) wearing a blue Staub 10?

MLB.com will allow you to customize one with Staub 10, but the biggest you can get is XL.  Tell ya what friend, hit the gym and squeeze into an XL and I will buy it for you.  I’d love to walk around Citi with a big redhead in one of these.

As for Rusty being “fat” – yeah he was a little bigger than say 1986 Lenny Dykstra, but I’ve met Rusty in real life.  He may be a big man but it’s not like he’s Hurley from Lost.  I’ve mentioned before, I sat next to him once at a concert and he had the two hottest women ever with him.  Right there Rusty has my respect.  More Rusty fun can be found here at Centerfield Maz.

All is quiet in Flushing.  Here’s a look back at the most popular for the week:

PRESALES INFO:  they added a presale for 2009 Stubhub customers, and here’s the rundown of other known presales. You can also build your own 4-pack but they are pricey.  What are your thoughts about variable ticket pricing?

Re: tickets.  I was thinking that since I already have Opening Day, and the Subway Series isn’t part of any of these sales – why exactly would I rush to buy tickets?   There’s nothing I really want to see other than the HOF game.  Here’s an overanalysis of the promotions schedule.

MCFADDENS INFO: Yes Virginia, there will be a bar at Citi Field and it has batting cages.   Drunks + Bats = fun?

I’m surprised how much people are digging my blue Mets jersey.

Non-Mets: check out this video of Target Field.

Outside links:  David Wright commented about his off-season workout routine. Also from the News, here’s the Reyes story.

Some older faves:

If you’d like to join the Blue Cap Army (it’s free) and join us on Opening Day at Citi, please sign up so I can try to see if someone will give us some freebies.  I don’t know if we’ll have the numbers yet, but this is a building process and has to start somewhere.  Sign up here.

Here’s the info for Single Game Tickets and Promotional Dates

Luis Castillo’s baseball card is pretty funny.

The Mets have quietly admitted there are obstructed views. Dave Howard, where’s my apology?

The Cyclones have a great jersey promotion for Wally Backman.

People liked my gift idea for Fred Wilpon

Fun stuff: Afterlife Shea Stadium was the home of the Puppy Bowl and Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel and now the home of the New Orleans Saints

This regularly gets clicked: It might make financial sense, but it sure is annoying to think Bobby Bonilla will get $1 million a year from the Mets from 2011-2035.

New York Mets photo day (blue caps)

One of the best resources for Mets news is Brian Costa in the Ledger…he covered photo day in this article. The good news is that the team wore blue caps with the white pinless (now primary) uniform.  The bad news is that they wore the same thing for photo day 2009 (why wear an alternate in a team photo? nitpick) but that doesn’t stop Charlie Samuels from dressing them like clowns.

I encourage you to follow Brian on twitter and of course follow metspolice

Now I have to get myself up to speed on the Reyes story.  I don’t like waking up to the words Mets and FBI.

New York Mets tickets presale for Stubhub customers on Tuesday (no Subway Series)

Wow, this is interesting.  A pre-sale for people who bought tickets on Stubhub.

I may disappoint some of you but I’m not going to post the password on this site.  I don’t think that’s a cool thing to do – it’s unfair to the people who actually earned the presale, and I don’t want to give the Mets the middle finger.  I think the Fonz would give me a thumbs down if I did that.    I will tell you that it is common knowledge that in 2009 the presales used the last names of star players.
