Citi Field: The Mets’ New World-Class Ballpark: A Ballpark Pop-up Book

This book exists.  Dan saw it at Barnes & Noble for $25, but Amazon has it discounted for $19.  I’m not going to make fun of it.  That’s why we have the comments section.

Citi Field: The Mets’ New World-Class Ballpark: A Ballpark Pop-up Book

What’s interesting, is the Amazon image (right) seems to have been retitled.  On the left is the version Dan saw at B&N.  Perhaps the stadium isn’t considered “new” any more.  Yeah, that must be it.

OMG!: A new picture of Mettle the Mule

Oh my oh my oh my I am so excited I can hardly contain myself.  Under my “honor among bloggers” code it would not be right to post the picture here, but go check out THIS new picture of Mettle the Mule and then come back.

Ok, you’re back.  OH MY GOODNESS.   I knew about the Mule but how stupid does that look when you actually see it?  I followed the Mets back then, I don’t really remember the mule.  I do remember being bothered when Mr. Met Prime disappeared for several years.

Here’s the best part: I WANT THEM TO BRING THE MULE BACK!

I mean, what could possibly happen?  Would people make fun of the Mets?  Why stop now?

Actually, in politics they talk about changing the story.   Let everyone focus on the mule.  Let them make fun of the mule.  Distract the dopey fat blogger with the mule.  If we’re making mule jokes we aren’t talking about Madoff or the lack of starting pitching or collapses.  Get the mule, change the story.  So Francesca makes fun.  Who cares?

Get a mule, trot it out there before games and stick it in a petting zoo over by the dunk tank and the batting cage stuff in center.  How awesome would the mule be?

You ever take a kid to a game?  In the 4th inning “let’s go see the mule” is a great way to avoid being nagged “can we leave now?” during the 7th…and 8th….and 9th.

I’m so excited at this pic.

24 Hour Talk-a-Thon tomorrow to benefit Operation Homefront

From time to time you’ll hear me say that I like to use my blog for good….

For the second year, the biggest names in baseball and the fantasy baseball industry join together to raise money for a worthy cause: to help the families of soldiers protecting our nation overseas.

From 12 noon on Feb. 27 until Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, Baseball Digest, FantasyPros911.com and BlogTalkRadio.com will join forces to host the second annual 24-Hour Talk-a-Thon.

The 24-Hour Talk-A-Thon will stream live at BlogTalkRadio :http://www.thefantasysportschannel.com/talkathon/

Last year’s show was an industry first, raising over $7,500 for Cystic Fibrosis. This year baseball writers and the fantasy baseball industry team up to help Operation Homefront. The Talk-a-Thon features guests from Major League Baseball, including Hall of Famers Robin Yount, as well as a host of current and former players, managers, coaches, scouts, radio personalities, and more.
