>Go Spain!

>(My) Spain knocked off Italy today. On to take on Russia on Thursday. I know nothing about it, but it’s fun to watch at work, and I guess we’re all supposed to be fans of Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas (that’s him on the left). Hey why not.

Good job Iker!

>Suddenly 3.5

>And after all that, only 3.5 back.

Nice win today. 3-2 under Jerry, so still a “.500” team but looking spunkier as gangstas.

Not much to say, the only topic still seems to be Willie and there’s nothing left to say about that.

Will be nice to have 7pm starts for a change, and Jerry will be the more tenured manager tomorrow night.

>Wilpon's Dodgers Get Own Stadium (in 1962)

>Variety republished an account of the first game at Dodger Stadium. Followers of the Mets Police know that Fred Wilpon thinks that he owns the Brooklyn Dodgers and totally ignores a certain other franchise that won 10 pennants before moving to San Francisco, and also had a familiar looking NY logo.

The Bums put on their top hat, white tie and tails yesterday and said farewell to Flatbush forever. There was a little bit of Brooklyn left though in the way they dropped the opener to the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 at the luscious looking, $18 mil Chavez Ravine stadium.

>Jerry's Kids Look Good Tonight So Far

>Has everyone else done the “Jerry’s Kids” thing already? It’s lame. I think I’ll stick to knife jokes.

So far Jerry & The Gangsters look like they are running harder (except Beltran). They actually look faster. Am I just seeing what I want to see? Was that an actual rally there in the second? As I type, Chavez made one helluva catch – also running full out. Maybe nobody wants to get stabbed.

I keep thinking the Rockies are the Mets because they too have hideous black uniforms. The basic Rockies uniform is actually classy. Wear that.
