Bad TV Angles At New Yankee Stadium (Times)

Published: April 6, 2009
Safety netting interferes with the home plate camera angle at the new Yankee Stadium.

During Saturday afternoon’s Yankees-Cubs exhibition game at the stadium, YES seemed to avoid using the camera shot as much as it normally would. The team and YES have until opening day on April 16 to try to ameliorate the problem. But the layout of the stadium, well known since 2006, seems to argue against the likelihood of any possible alteration.
Eric Handler, a YES spokesman, said: “We’re looking at everything and trying to be as creative as possible.”

Video: Can You See From The Last Rows Of The Citi Field Promenade?

A tip of the blue Mets hat to Amazin’ Avenue who told us about this video from the last row of the LF Promenade at Citi Field.

I agree with Amazin’.  These aren’t bad.  Much better than the obstructed views in 504, or the obstructed views in 529.

For all things obstructed check out The Obstructions At Citi and The Obstructions at Yankee.

UPDATE:  This video comes from The ‘Ropolitans.  Do the right thing and give them a visit.

Another Review Of New Yankee Stadium

I wanted to say “another good review…” meaning that the review is good, not the Stadium.

The stories about Yankee fans not loving the new place are picking up.  About a week from now the newspapers will pick up on this.

Field of Schemes leads off with this great pair of sentences…

It’s a bit like visiting a Grand Theft Auto version of the old ballpark, where reality has been twisted to make it easier to render on a computer. (All that was missing was a sign reading “Pinstripe Cathedral” or “Bomber Field.”)

$375 To Stand At A Game At Yankee Stadium

New Stadium Insider has updated us about the standing room policy at New Yankee Stadium.

You know how I thought I was gonna pay $10 and stand behind home plate……guess not.

I don’t want to steal NSI’s material so click the link and find out how much you’ll be (not) paying to stand.

NSI is usually right.  I hope they have bad info this time, but when I was stannding behind great seats on Saturday, I knew there was no way that I’d be allowed to that all year.
