While you celebrate George Steinbrenner’s 80th birthday, think back about Lou Gehrig and Dave Righetti’s no-hitter, let’s also take time to make fun of this. Â From the WSJ a few weeks back:
From 1979 to 1981, the Yankees employed a mascot named Dandy. He was big and blue and a spectacular failure—a historical oddity for a proud franchise that has collected 27 world championships but would just as soon forget he even existed. Which, to be fair, isn’t terribly difficult to do.
Mr. Met II may be swishy but at least he ain’t a slob. Â He’s sort of Metrosexual. Â Metsrosexual?
Mets Blue at Yankees Stadium 6/18/10
Thanks to Chris for sending over some pictures again. This time from Yankees Stadium on Friday. He did something really cool with showing the Mets blue around the Stadium.

Mets vs. Yankees 6/19
Reyes hit two home runs for basically all the Mets scoring today. Pelfrey has a second straight game where he did not look sharp as he has in other games this year. The bullpen kept the Mets in the game and I actually felt they had a chance to come back.
I really do not have a feeling of dread this year like I did with the team for the previous two years.
I also think Santana is going to have a good game tomorrow with some timely hitting and the Mets will win. Yes I am confident of a win tomorrow.
